What bike fs hardtail ds front sus?
Been looking now and have roughly 300 pound for a bike not alot but all can afford
Theres alot of what looks like cheap components and garbage the full suspensions look good and are more comfortable etc but hardtails look stronger are lighter and better made
The problem is when see that the frame has a huge shock absorber in the y frame in middle think that makes it weaker the frame as the load of person sitting or strain stress is taken up by this absorber whether coiled or hydralic surely a complete frame is stronger
Leaving out all the physics want a bike that is going to last as brought a trek full sus last time and it last three months
Its for dirt paths woodland downhill
Tried cannondale specialized marin but they cost so much
A good review of barracuda thunder but cant find anywere in net that sells one
Is barracuda a decent enough strong make component wise etc
What make should be looking for, for a full sus and hardtail
Look into "Jamis Bicycles", they seemed to be pretty tough, and in your price range. When I had my Bike Shop, I sponsored a Jamis Rider and they did fairly well without a ton of repairs.
I also sold from a company called "Caloi", their frames were stout and strong. And the prices were also in your price range. I am unsure if they still sell in the US or Europe though.
Remember, get the best frame you can with what parts are on it. You can always upgrade the extras later. I had one young customer that bought a frame, then one by one started to buy the parts as he could afford them. It took awhile, but as he was going along, I loaned parts so he could ride while he was saving for the next part(s). Just mentioning that, a good Bike Shop in your area may do something similar for you.
