I have a 98 camaro it came standard with a tire size of 245/50/16, can i put on 225/55/16s on the front?
I need to know if I can use two front tires that measure 225/55/16 when I am running stock 245/50/16's on the back?

thank's for the responces but, last year I had dropped from the 245/50/16's to the 225/50/16's and now I need to know if the 225/55/16's will fit better. I never lost gas milage, just bottom clearance. The car runs great as well!!!!
I know that I asked a strange question however, I have been getting GREAT responces...... What I failed to say as well is that I have been running the 2nd tires now for 1 1/2 years. I just want to know what if it would make a change running the 55's instead of the 50's?
a smaller metric size is not recommended due to the fact it is not meant to safely support the weight of the car. If you are looking for a lower profile tire, go to a 17" rim. If you want to lower the car, it is better to use aftermarket springs that are tailored to your camaro. Also, usuing two different size tires will give you poor longevity of all 4 tires as well as alter the wheel alignment, causing increased tire wear. Hope this helps
